Bubble Tea Tapioca Pearls

I finally made a trip to T&T Supermarket to pick up the bubble tea tapioca pearls that I knew they’d have and that I’ve been craving so badly. The night before this trip had included a late night adventure to Superstore, which has apparently shrunk it’s Asian aisle significantly. Disappointing. 

I have to say, this isn’t much of a recipe post, but more of an explanation of how excited I was to find not only the traditional black tapioca pearls, but rainbow ones too!

I was equally stoked to find out that these little beauties only take about 5 minutes to become plump and juicy, unlike the traditional “boil for 2 hours” tiny, white tapioca pearls.

All you do is boil them for 5 minutes (they’re in that pot, I swear, just kind of hard to see), scoop them out of the water, and into your drink!

I was too lazy to make Boba this time (sad, I know), so I just put them in a passionfruit green tea that I also picked up at T&T…

It was delicious though! I can’t wait to try the rainbow ones, I will post pictures when I do! These black ones looked and tasted exactly like how you’d expect them to, mmm.
